Excel Rope
$27.91
Marlow Excel Pro 2 mm Mini Spool. This rope comes in 5 different colours but the yellow is the best. Each spool contains 30 meters. It has a twisted polyester core with 16 plait polyester cover. I had to look up the word plait: a single length of hair or other flexible material made up of three or more interlaced strands; a braid. Marlow Excel Pro 2 mm has a breaking weight of 110kg (243 lbs). I think every sailboat has a spool of this stuff somewhere.
Features:
· Distinctive colours make for easy line identification while racing.
· Twiested polyster core reudeced stretch for an economic price.
· Durable 16 plait cover projects against wear, increasing the line’s life.
· The rope hols in cleats well making it ideal for halyards and control lines.
I don’t exactly know about any of that but I have used it in my work- mooring lines for the projects Black Nance and Boutilier Marine and more generally as zipper pulls, identifying loops on scissors and OLFA knives and as bracelets for nieces and nephews. Useful and pretty.
